Here's a savegame of one of my better expeditions into the dungeons of doom. At dungeon level 29, just before entering Gehennom and after successfully fighting my way through the castle full of soldiers, dragons and other monsters the level above. My Necromancer is at experience level 23, featuring +6 Magicbane, the Eye of the Aethiopica, an amulet of reflection, helm of telepathy, cloak of displacement, a bag of holding and a luckstone among the various items in the inventory. A pretty nice character, but ahead lies the hardest part of the adventure...

I personally prefer being an elven wizard. While not as sturdy as, say, a valkyrie, casting spells like taming or fireball is always a pleasure. And the outfit is way cooler.
